Before joining the Atlantis team as our pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Lydia Bañuelos was the Director of Retinopathy of Prematurity Services at Diamond Children’s Center at the University Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Bañuelos’ unique qualifications are the result of a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and special training in treating infants with ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity). In addition to pediatric ophthalmology services, Dr. Bañuelos performs ophthalmology procedures on adults to help them achieve perfect vision. My name is Thomas Lansford, I was in an auto accident about 2 years ago which caused damaged to a nerve in one of my eyes. As a result, it caused me to have double vision and headaches. I saw a doctor who told me that surgery was an option but may not work and I could end up worse than I am. He gave me glasses that didn’t help and in fact they made my headaches worse. So I sought a second opinion in which I was referred to Atlantis Eyecare, where I met Dr. Lydia Banuelos. Not only did she make me feel comfortable, but she also gave me hope. After careful consideration, Dr. Banuelos performed strabismus surgery on my eye. The very next day my double vision was almost completely gone and after awhile my headaches got much better. It has been 6 months since my surgery and I am very happy with the results so far. I would highly recommend Dr. Banuelos to anyone that needs a second opinion. I am so happy I didn’t settle with my first doctor’s recommendation.

Dr. Banuelos showed professional services and fulfilled to the highest of my standards. Both the woman who seen me first that gave me the pressure test and gave drops. Doctor followed up to explain the exam and tested eyes due to diabetes. Five stars to both of them. Two of my nieces took me to my appointment. One of them liked cleanliness and how fast I was out. She made an appointment :)
